This webinar will be an in-depth look at the latest product from Naked Prosthetics: the GripLock Finger. Learn what makes the GripLock Finger the lightest and strongest metacarpal solution for partial hand amputees on the market and how it complements the rest of Naked Prosthetics’ body-driven product family. You will learn about the product anatomy, function, and testing of the device as well as hear from one of our first adopters.
This course will take you through a thorough review of patient candidacy, including examples of optimal and non-optimal clinical presentations. Our team will also walk you through the steps of the ordering and fabrication process, provide examples of unique socket customizations, and conclude with how to work with our customer care and clinical teams to ensure strong patient outcomes.

By the end of this course, attendees will understand the anatomy and mechanics of the GripLock Finger, how it functions, and what makes the GripLock Finger unique. Attendees will also leave the course with an understanding of the different types of patient candidates, how to manage their patient’s expectations based on their specific clinical presentation, and the next steps to working with Naked Prosthetics in the intake, ordering, and fabrication process.
Speaker: Chris Smith, CPO
Chris is a certified and licensed prosthetist/orthotist who completed his Master’s in Prosthetics & Orthotics (MPO) at the University of Washington. Before pursuing his MPO, he worked as both a PT and OT aide. While in those roles, he had the opportunity to be involved in the rehabilitation of many patients recovering from various amputations of the upper extremity. He saw firsthand how significant a patient’s life could be impacted by prostheses which ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in prosthetics and orthotics. After finishing his degree, Chris completed his residency training in Spokane and then worked in a prosthetics & orthotics clinic on the Olympic Peninsula. His unique perspective, drawing from clinical work across multiple rehabilitation medicine disciplines makes him a valuable addition to the Naked Prosthetics team as a Clinical Specialist.
